Date(s): July 6 & 7, 2024
Location: Midtown Toronto
For two days out of the year, Toronto’s Midtown district thrums with clave beats and congas during an epic fiesta. Experience Toronto’s multicultural flair for yourself at the TD Salsa In Toronto Festival, Canada’s largest celebration of all things Latin that takes place every July.
Come for well over a hundred musical performances, salsa champions, delicious Latin cuisines, Grammy-winning artists, and even a Canadian politician or two who have been shining up their dancing shoes. In years past, there have been appearances by the AfroLatino Dance Company, Jose Ortega, Adriano Ieropoli and Samantha Scali, and the Mexicans Folk Ballet.
Performers and visitors alike are dancing in the streets, and it’s easy to feel like you’re an extra in films like Westside Story or In the Heights. If you don’t know the moves, TD Salsa In Toronto also has dance lessons on the schedule with well-respected instructors. All sorts of entertainment don’t require any rhythm, like art exhibitions, a parade, salsa film screenings, and more.
Things to do at the Salsa in Toronto Festival include:
A cultural celebration of Caribbean music, cuisine and revelry.
A month-long celebration and one of North America’s largest Pride festivals.
Immerse yourself in culture in Toronto’s Greektown.
Food, music, art, culture – whatever your passion, there’s a festival for it in Toronto.
