Needless to say, fall 2024 promises more thrilling concerts and live shows. Wondering who’s coming? Here’s a list of 25 superstars and up-and-comers playing at Toronto music venues this season.

Electric Island Muse Series

Date: September 1, 2024 

Location: Fort York and The Bentway

The most cutting-edge names in techno descend on the city to play the legendary dance music festival series Electric Island

The city’s Fort York neighbourhood, including The Bentway (a public space under the Gardiner Expressway), will be transformed by a global lineup featuring Belgian DJ Amelie Lens (who frequently DJs fashion week parties for Armani and Yves Saint Laurent), local Toronto clubland legend Weska and Turkish multi-instrumentalist Carlita.

Stone Temple Pilots

Date: September 8, 2024 

Location: Budweiser Stage

The giants of the 90s grunge scene, Stone Temple Pilots, are set to headline The Jubilee Tour at Budweiser Stage alongside fellow alt-rockers Soul Asylum. Don’t expect any mosh pits forming but count on STP to play tracks off their classic album Purple, as it is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

 

Pulp

Dates: September 10 & 11, 2024 

Location: History

Alternative rock darlings Pulp will bring their arsenal of slick hits, such as “Common People” and “Disco 2000,” to History, the state-of-the-art music venue co-owned by rapper/impresario Drake.

 

Milky Chance

Date: September 12, 2024 

Location: The Bowl at Sobeys Stadium

Hailing from Kassel, Germany, the experimental pop twosome Milky Chance will be importing their Fresh Beats Volume 1 Tour to Sobeys Stadium in North York this fall. The tour will provide audiences with a seriously cool and eclectic collection of tracks, blending the global rhythms of Portuguese fado, American jazz and Jamaican reggae.

BLK ODYSSY

Date: September 13, 2024

Location: The Great Hall

Pushing the boundaries and blending the borders of R&B, soul and pop music, BLK ODYSSY’s upcoming show at The Great Hall will grant audiences a fresh sampling of the New Jersey native’s most recent album, 1-800 Fantasy, an acclaimed disc of sultry and funk-laden cuts.
 

Melanie C

Date: September 14, 2024

Location: The Phoenix Concert Theatre

Otherwise known as Sporty Spice from the most famous girl group to have ever zig-a-zig-ahhed, Melanie C is coming to the Phoenix Concert Theatre to share her love of music. The former Spice Girls member will mainly DJ her favourite pop, house, disco and rock tunes, but she’s also known for taking the mic and singing during her sets.
 

Charlie XCX & Troye Sivan

Date: September 18, 2024

Location: Scotiabank Arena

Fresh off of helping Kamala Harris’s campaign team achieve some major viral moments with her Brat sound and vision (particularly its acid green iconography), Charlie XCX brings her futuristic rave-style tracks to the Scotiabank Arena with Australian electro-pop prince, Troye Sivan.

Divine Brown

Date: September 19, 2024

Location: El Mocambo

Toronto’s own soul diva par excellence is staging an homage to revolutionary women in jazz at the stunning El Mocambo (which reportedly spent $35 million+ on renovations). For one night only, Divine Brown will be singing songs from legendary singers such as Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald.

 

Sting

Date: September 20, 2024

Location: Massey Hall

The husky-voiced Englishman brings his sultry slew of hits to Toronto’s treasured landmark, Massey Hall. 

A talented musician, actor and activist, Sting will be cherry-picking songs from 15 solo albums which spawned a new era of adult contemporary music and pair them with tracks from his remarkable musical past life as the frontman for The Police.

 

Tanya Tagaq, Emma Pennell and others

Date: October 1, 2024

Location: Koerner Hall

Acclaimed Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq and soprano Emma Pennell, accompanied by the Royal Conservatory Orchestra conducted by Jennifer Tung, will be one of the many highlights during a concert to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Billie Eilish

Date: October 2, 2024

Location: Scotiabank Arena

Hot off the heels of an Oscar and multiple Grammy wins, Billie Eilish reinterprets hits and new songs off her recent disc, Hit Me Hard and Soft, for her tour of the same name.

 

Hanson

Dates: October 13 & 14, 2024

Location: The Danforth Music Hall

The three brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma relive their irresistible mmmbop heyday, ignite early 90s heartthrob nostalgia and surprise audiences with new songs from their latest disc, Underneath: Complete. 

Special guests Matthew Sweet (October 13 & 14) and Phantom Planet (October 14 only) join Hanson for the trio’s Underneath: Experience Tour.

 

Justin Timberlake

Date: October 17, 2024

Location: Scotiabank Arena

Call it a comeback! Justin Timberlake brings his sexyback to Toronto for a one-night-only affair supporting his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was.

 

Iron Maiden

Date: October 26, 2024

Location: Scotiabank Arena

English heavy metal legends Iron Maiden swing through Toronto on their Future Past Tour, unleashing tracks from their five-decade-long career and multi Gold- and Platinum-earning albums.

Paw Paw Rod

Date: October 30, 2024

Location: The Velvet Underground

Rapper and singer PawPaw Rod bridges indie pop, alternative R&B and 60s funk like nobody else. Fans are expecting his hybridity to be front and centre in the new songs he’s been working on. 

His Toronto gig at The Velvet Underground—part of his much-anticipated Doobie Mouth Tour—will predate the release of his long-awaited debut album, and he will likely tease fans with new and unreleased material.

 

Devonté Hynes

Date: November 1, 2024

Location: Roy Thompson Hall

Known for his boundary-pushing, soul-infused four albums (under the Blood Orange moniker) and his sleek collaborations with Solange, Mariah Carey and A$AP Rocky, Devonté Hynes is the king of musical multiplicity. 

During his stop in Toronto, he will perform select classical works with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thompson Hall, solidifying his status as a musical polyglot.

 

Patrick Watson and the Filmharmonic Orchestra

Date: November 2, 2024

Location: Meridian Hall

Patrick Watson’s on-stage performances are the closest thing to hearing a movie soundtrack live and in real-time. 

This ultra-modern composer—who weaves his classical influences into his compositions—consistently wows audiences with renditions of sonically lush songs such as “The Great Escape” and “To Build a Home” (the latter featured in “Grey’s Anatomy” and more than 20 TV shows and films).

Odie Leigh

Date: November 5, 2024

Location: Longboat Hall

Baton Rouge’s musical multihyphenate has devised a bluegrass, indie rock and country-fused setlist for her upcoming tour that is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell’s early days. Equal parts humour and sorrow, Odie Leigh’s folky setlists guarantee laughter and tears.

 

Bruce Springsteen & EStreet Band

Dates: November 3 & 6, 2024

Location: Scotiabank Arena

Bruce Springsteen recharges his rock and roll legacy by offering live interpretations of his greatest hits (think “Born In The USA” to “Dancing In The Dark”) as well as emotional acoustic versions of classics such as “Thunder Road.”

 

IAMDDB

Date: November 10, 2024

Location: The Drake Underground

Portugal-born, British rapper and singer IAMDDB will be showcasing her samba, hip-hop, trap and reggae-influenced repertoire in Toronto, choosing hot cuts from her three EPS and three mixed tapes.

Taylor Swift

Dates: November 14, 15,16, 21, 22, 23, 2024

Location: Rogers Center

Revisiting all the musical sounds and visions of her career thus far, Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated Era’s Tour—the highest-grossing tour in history—has been likened to a sonic autobiography of sorts.

Lacey Hill and Zachariah Highgate

Date: November 17, 2024

Location: Aki Studio

Describing her music as “Indigenous Soul,” Lacy Hill’s extraordinary performances on stage convey the triumphs and the challenges of her life as an Oneida/Mohawk, Wolf Clan, Six Nations-born talent hailing from the Grand River Reservation. 

She is joined by Afro-Indigenous and Goan artist rapper-singer-songwriter Zachariah Highgate.

Jelani Aryeh

Date: November 20, 2024

Location: The Garrison

Jelani Aryeh’s only Ontario stop for The Sweater Club Tour puts the spotlight on the San Diego-born singer-songwriter’s genre-unifying brand of indie rock and pop.

 

Kellylee Evans

Date: December 13, 2024

Location: Hugh’s Room

Juno-winning jazz singer Kellylee Evans will be singing songs off of her latest release, Show Love, a masterclass of an album that redefines quiet storm ballads and all branches of relaxed tempo chillout music.

 

Tony Ann

Date: December 14, 2024

Location: Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Toronto’s own classical musician Tony Ann comes back to his hometown during his world tour after completing a slew of sold-out shows in places such as Taipei, Paris and Munich. 

His compositions—which have amassed him a massive social media following—amalgamate his deep love of classical and contemporary music.
